SKCCU Donates to Cardin Home, Credit Union Week Continues

(ZIZ News) – The St. Kitts Cooperative Credit Union (SKCCU) spent Monday donating care packages to homes throughout the island.

The donation formed part of the activities to observe Credit Union Week.

As the package was handed over at the Cardin Home, the Credit Union’s General Manager Cheryl Bass thanked the nurses for their work and pledged her company’s support.

She said, “It is indeed a pleasure to be here at the Cardin Home as just one way of our saying thank you and being a helping hand. Today, it is a pleasure to be with nurse and to be able to make a small contribution to the Cardin Home and we want to say a big thank you for the excellent job you have been doing in our community in helping many of the less fortunate of our society.”

According to Bass, the St. Christopher Children’s Home and Safe Haven were also among that received packages.

“People Helping People” is the theme under which Credit Union Week is being observed.

BASS said the activities planned for the week will embody the theme.

“For the entire week, we have set about doing social activities throughout our community as we extend a helping hand to members of our society,” she noted.

Thursday is International Credit Union Day and as such, the SKCCU will participate in a wide range of activities including a panel discussion on ZIZ Television, visits to schools, an awards ceremony and a march through the streets of Basseterre.
