SKELEC & Scotiabank Partner to Provide Fewer Lines; More Ways to Pay

Basseterre, St. Kitts (December 12, 2011) – Customers of the St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) wishing to reduce the number of lines while doing business can now achieve more in one line. While banking at Scotiabank, SKELEC customers can now choose to pay their electricity bills at any of Scotiabank’s branches on St. Kitts.

SKELEC’s Chief Financial Officer Mrs. Marva Thompson said, “SKELEC has made arrangements with the Scotiabank to receive payments on our behalf, a service which our customers have been using through the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited for many years. SKELEC customers, while visiting Scotiabank for their business, can simply present the Bank’s Teller with their electricity bill or location ID and the amount they are paying.”

SKELEC is committed to enhancing its customer experience and since commencing operations in August, has embarked on a number of initiatives to make doing business with SKELEC more efficient and effective.

The St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) commenced operations on August 1, 2011 and is the sole provider of electricity supply to consumers on the island on St. Kitts.
