SKN Congratulates Barbados And Suriname On Independence Anniversaries

(ZIZ News) — Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris has offered words of congratulations to Barbados and Suriname, in light of their Independence Anniversary Celebrations.

In a letter to Barbados’ Prime Minister, the Honourable Freundel Stuart, Dr. Harris said “Barbados has a commendable legacy of achievements and successes, for which you have won the respect and admiration of countries worldwide.”

In a similar letter to his Excellency Desiré Delano “Dési” Bouterse, President of Suriname, Dr. Harris said “Suriname continues to demonstrate a commitment to fulfil its role as a significant team player in the regional integration movement.”

Suriname gained its independence on November 25, 1975 while Barbados’ independence came on November 30th 1966.
