SKN delegation prepares to travel to Seatrade Europe 2019

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 10, 2019 (ZIZ News): Representatives from the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, the St Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) and the St. Kitts Scenic Railway are preparing to attend the 2019 Seatrade Europe Cruise and River Cruise Convention

in Hamburg, Germany this week from September 11-13.

During a brief interview with ZIZ, Product Development Manager at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Melnecia Marshall explained the importance of Seatrade Europe, noting that the conference helps to solidify cruise industry partnerships and attract new business from European Cruise Lines.

The Product Development Manager said that St. Kitts will form part of the Caribbean village at the event and explained that the event would give representatives the opportunity to stand in solidarity with Hurricane affected Bahamas.

Marshall said the event will be divided into two parts, one of which is a conference and also used the opportunity to explain how essential learning more about the needs of the Europe Market can enhance the service our tourism industry provides.

Topics such as “How Ships and Ports Adapt for a Greener Future”, “How Do We Create Effective Dialogue among Cruise Lines, Ports and Cities”, and “Exploring the Terminal of the Future” will be discussed during the three day event.

The delegation will join more than 5,000 stakeholders from the cruise industry and comprises Minister of Public Infrastructure, Hon. Ian Liburd, Minister of Tourism, Hon, Lindsay Grant, Chair of SCASPA, Austin Gary Desilva, and President and Director of Scenic Railway, Steve Hites.
