(ZIZ News)– Team SKN has been performing well at the Special Olympics Games 2019.
On Saturday 16th March 2019, Tanique Richards won the first gold medal of the games for St Kitts and Nevis.
Tanique took the gold medal in the 200m race at the Dubai Police Athletic Stadium.
Also taking home the gold is Jamor Merchant for his cycling performance.
Roshawn Daniel took to the tracks on Sunday 17th March 2019, for the male 200m race and is bringing home the bronze medal for St. Kitts and Nevis.
Also in action on Saturday were Lemuel Hobson and Roger Crawford in open water swimming at the La Mer beach here in Dubai. Both athletes completed their 800 m swim but did not place in the top three.
Minister of Sport Hon Shawn Richards was on hand visiting the athletes in Dubai and witnessed Tanique Richards winning her 200m race.
Thirteen athletes from St. Kitts and Nevis are currently in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) participating in the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games from March 14 – 21.
