SKN to feel impact of weather system on Wednesday

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 29, 2020 (ZIZ News): St. Kitts Nevis will begin feeling the effects of potential tropical cyclone nine as early as Wednesday morning.

That’s according to Senior Met Officer Elmo Burke in a report during an emergency NEOC briefing on Tuesday afternoon.

He said the disturbance is currently 570 miles south east of the federation moving at about 23 miles an hour. He said the system will pass south of the federation but the islands will likely se weather changes as early as Wednesday morning.

He said “Based on the trajectory, once it continues, we are anticipating it to pass to our south, however since we’ll be in the north-eastern quadrant of the storm we anticipating that we are likely to see weather conditions deteriorating across St. Kitts and Nevis starting from sometime tomorrow. The earliest we are anticipating it is from early tomorrow morning whereas the most likely scenario, we are looking at around midday, thereabout.”
