SKN to Participate in Security Workshops

(ZIZ)– Two law enforcement officials from St. Kitts will be taking part in two separate security related workshops in Canada next week.

The Organization of American States (OAS) through the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE) will be sending Inspector Rosemarie Roberts to participate in the Regional Workshop on Major Events Security for Women.

In an interview with ZIZ News, OAS Representative Starret Greene says his organization continues to put a focus on the development of women.

“These are women who are engaged in managing major events where security becomes an important issue. The OAS continues to place emphasis on the important role that women play in all aspects of our lives, all aspects of our development and in this case, security,” he said.

Inspector Adolph Sylvester Adams will then take part in the Annual National Focal Point Meeting.

At this meeting, Greene said, “They will be taking the opportunity to review the progress that they have made over the last three years and they will be sharing best practices methods and speaking about the challenges, opportunities, and even the problems that they have experienced in security in each of their member countries.”

The Regional Workshop on Major Events Security for Women takes from March 10th-12th while the National Focal Point Meeting is scheduled for March 12th-14th in Ottawa, Canada.
