SKNAH donates to Flamboyant Nursing Home, St. Kitts Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities and Tabernacle Primary School

ZIZ News…Dec 24, 2012 — The executive committee and supporters of the St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Houston (SKNAH) carried on the tradition of making annual donations to organizations in the Federation. This year, our “Pack de Barrel” campaign was focused on collecting items for the residents of the Flamboyant Nursing Home in Nevis, The St. Kitts Nevis Association of People with disabilities, and to the Edgar T. Morris Primary School in Tabernacle.

There was a strong showing of support by members and supporters of SKNAH who generously donated items which filled 3 barrels. Three (3) wheelchairs were also donated. Following the collection drive, a “pack de barrel” party was held at the shipping facility in Houston, Texas where the barrels were packed and shipped.

A formal presentation of the donated items will be made to the residents at the Flamboyant Nursing Home, Alexandra Hospital – Government Road, Nevis at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 27, 2012.

The presentation of items to the students and staff of the Edgar T. Morris Primary School in Tabernacle will be made at 2:30 pm on Thursday, December 27, 2012.

On Friday, December 28, 2012 the presentation of wheelchairs to the St. Kitts Nevis Association of People with Disabilities will be made. Time and location TBD.

Formally established in 2008, SKNAH is a grassroots, non-profit, non-political community organization with the purpose of providing support and enhancing the lives of Kittitians and Nevisians in the Federation and the Greater Houston, Texas area. We are involved in educational, cultural and social service programs, volunteerism, keeping our culture strong and vibrant and assisting our citizens in the Federation.
