Attorney Chesley Hamilton claimed in a recent WINN FM article that the order to the soldier to perjure himself was “conceived and executed from within the bowels of the armed forces at the army Camp Springfield.”

In response, the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force’s Public Affairs Officer, Captain Kayode Sutton issued a media release in which he strongly condemned the allegation.

The release stated that there is absolutely no truth in Hamilton’s allegation, adding that, “we are a professional body and we wish to make it clear to all that we will under no circumstances contravene the laws of St. Kitts-Nevis.”

The defence force is also calling on Hamilton to hand over to the relevant authorities any information that he has to substantiate his allegation.

Captain Sutton said he sees Hamilton’s accusation as a malicious and crude attempt to tarnish the good name and reputation of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force but joined him in calling for an a full inquiry into the matter.
