SKNLP Hosts Press Conference Ahead Of Election Day

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 3rd, 2020 (ZIZ News): The St. Kitts Nevis Labour party held a press conference on Wednesday ahead of the June 5th General elections to outline the issues the party has recognized with regards to the electoral process.

According to the leader of the Labour party Dr. Denzil Douglas these issues include the recent closure of the electoral office and the non publication of polling stations.

Dr. Douglas also spoke of a lack of information available regarding the covid19 protocols that should be in place for Election Day.

“The electoral office should have acquired a face mask for every single voter and should have shared the necessary information with the public in this regard. It is our view that part of the design is to frustrate voters, it is to suppress voters, who may eventually be turned away from polling stations if they do not appear to be abiding by the protocols, which to this day have not been published by the electoral office.

The press conference was chaired by general secretary of the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party Diana Williams and was addressed by all nominated candidates of the party.
