SKN’s role in response to 9/11

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 11, 2019 (ZIZ News): As the United States commemorates the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 on the world trade centre ZIZ, on Wednesday reflected on the role St. Kitts & Nevis played in the response to the attacks.

During the day ZIZ TV rebroadcast a statement by Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis to the OAS at the time, Dr. Izben Williams, as he gave the Federation’s response to the 9/11 tragedy.

During his address Dr. Williams expressed St. Kitts and Nevis’ clear condemnation of those responsible for this heinous act against the United States.

He said “My government reaffirms its solidarity with the government and people of the United States. St. Kitts and Nevis commits to cooperate fully with the United States in its efforts to rescue and reconstruct; and it is committed also to cooperate with the investigate, punitive and preventative measures being put in place.”

The speech was broadcast on C-SPAN and ambassadors talked about the investigation into attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, considered steps to help bring the perpetrators to justice, and explored mechanisms to coordinate a hemispheric war on terrorism.
