SKNYPA Offers Scholarship
Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 12, 2020 (ZIZ News): Five students transitioning from primary to public high school will be the recipients of a scholarship being offered by the St. Kitts Nevis Youth Parliament Association (SKNYPA).
According to member of the St. Kitts Nevis Youth Parliament Association Chris Tyson, the scholarship is being made available through the association’s scholarship programme.
“The Ward- Hanley Mentorship and Scholarship programme that SKNYPA is offering, we’re providing this to newly transitioning students into high school so that we can provide them with the economic ability so that they can manoeuvre this new field of education better than they would without our assistance. We are also providing them with one year of mentorship which would allow these students to build lifelong skills and learn skills that are in line with the association such as leadership skills and public speaking, giving them that extra push in life.”
He said persons can nominate themselves or others using an online platform.
“The Scholarship form is available online. It is only available online so you can go ahead and get in touch with our Facebook page and our Instagram page at SKNYPA the ST. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association and there you may find the post on our Facebook to get information about the scholarship as well as the link. On Instagram you will see a post about the scholarship with the poster and you can find the link there in the bio. You can go ahead, nominate someone or nominate yourself and they will see your application.”
Mr. Tyson also used the opportunity to wish the federation’s youth a happy International Youth Day.
SKNYPA also wants to wish all the youth here in the federation a very happy International Youth Day where we are celebrating the theme “Youth Engagement for Global Action.”
Nominations for SKNYPA’S Warde Hanley Mentorship and Scholarship are open until August 21st.
The St. Kitts Nevis Youth Parliament Association will be hosting a fundraising bake sale on Saturday August 15th on Bank Street.
