SKNYPA Recognises Contribution of Young People

(ZIZ News) – The St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association (SKNYPA) continues to do its part in recognising and uplifting the nation’s young people.

On Sunday, the association held a Youth Cocktail at Government House under the patronage of His Excellency, S. W. Tapley Seaton CVO, QC, JP.

It formed part of activities for Youth Month 2015 and was also attended by Minister of Youth, the Hon. Shawn Richards and St. Kitts and Nevis’ Ambassador to the United Nations, His Excellency Sam Condor.

The event, according to the association’s President Azard Gumbs, was intended to highlight the positive work of young people and youth organisations.

He said, “What we have done here this evening (Sunday 1st November) is gather a number of individuals from different youth organisations to show them that we appreciate you, we appreciate your contributions to St. Kitts and Nevis. As we know, young people have tremendous potential and we know the potential young people possess cannot be determined, defined; it’s limitless. And so this evening, we wish to recognise young people, recognise their talents, their gifts and their dedication to their nation.”

It also served as an opportunity for representatives from youth-oriented organisations to network and share ideas.

Activities for youth month continue this week with a Teen Cyber Bullying Workshop on Thursday and Friday’s display of projects completed by last year’s 25 Most Remarkable Teens.
