Soca Monarch Semi Finalists Announced

(ZIZ News) – The semi-finalists for this year’s Soca Monarch competition have been announced.

A total of 30 artistes will be competing on December 11th, with 15 in the groovy segment and 15 in the power segment.

The announcement was made by Chairman of the National Carnival Committee Noah Mills who spoke exclusively with Gcue on ZIZ’s The Morning Show.

“The semi- finalists for the Groovy Segment are Shakki Starfire, Vincy, Delly Ranks, Dis N Dat, Smiley, Fantastic Tunda, Nicha B, Ijahnya, Ranking Skeff, Shanna, K-Jah, La Donna, Rucas, Piece-A-Man and KT with Daddy Tustee and Sugarbowl as the alternates,” he said.

He further announced the Power Segment semi- finalists who are “Piece-A-Man, Ijahnya, Daddy Tusty, Bagnall, L.A.X, Shanna, Pinocchio, Jazzbo, Jeezy Sparta, Mr. Hype, Mr. World, Fantastic Tunda, Delly Ranks, J Money and Seekou.”

Ras Kelly and Tanabal have been announced as the alternates in that segment which is being sponsored by ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation.

This year, approximately 53 artistes entered the Soca Monarch competition.

The finals are scheduled to take place on December 23rd.
