Social Security Hosts 11th Annual Christmas Cheer Project

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 31st,  2020 (ZIZ News) One hundred and forty persons were the recipients of care packages this month through the St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board eleventh annual Christmas Cheer Project.

According to a statement, the project aims to deliver food items to some of the most socially vulnerable groups. In this instance, it catered to the recipients of Social Security’s Assistance Pensions and Invalidity Pensions.

It said “The Social Security Board is cognizant of the importance of providing much needed relief especially at a time as this and saw the immense value of this gesture especially in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

In recognizing the Board’s initiative, Premier of Nevis Hon. Mark Brantley shared his unwavering support for Social Security via his Facebook Page, posting “I love Social Security. They continue to give back to the Federation! May they never grow weary in doing good.”

The recipients of Social Security’s Assistance Pensions and Invalidity Pensions received care packages containing Milk, Oats, Vienna Sausages, Tuna, Sardines, Macaroni & Cheese, Crackers, Rice, and Toiletries.
