SPBS Second Annual Benefit Gala scheduled for Labor day weekend in New York

ZIZ News…Aug 24, 2012 — In just under two weeks, during the annual Labor Day week end festivities, the Sandy Point Benevolent Society, a Sandy Point High School alumni association will host its Second Annual Benefit Gala in New York City. From all reports, the impressive Maestro Banquet Hall located at 1703 Bronxdale Avenue, Bronx NY 10462 will come alive as scores of nationals from the twin island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis resident at home and abroad are expected to attend this GALA affair.

A spokesman for the organization said that its members are on a mission to sell tickets that will ensure a sellout crowd of at least 200 guests. The $90.00 event cost will allow for an all-night open bar, free entry in door prize drawings, trinkets, customized with the national colors of St. Kitts and Nevis and a complimentary souvenir magazine printed in celebration of 20112 Gala Event.

Prime Minister of St. Kitts-Nevis, The Right Honorable Dr. Denzil L. Douglas will lend his distinguished patronage on this auspicious occasion. The Honorable Shawn K. Richards, MP and Elected Representative for the Electoral District of St. Christopher 5 (Sandy Point/Fig Tree) and the Federation’s Ambassador to the United States, Her Excellency Jacinth L. Henry-Martin will attend in a show of support for their Alma mater, Sandy Point.

The 2012 SPBS Benefit Gala will feature as its Special Guest Speaker, His Excellency, Dr. Simon B. Jones-Hendrickson, Kittitian-Professor of Economics at the University of the Virgin Islands. Professor Jones-Hendrickson, one of the three nationals to be honored during the ceremony will receive the SPBS Distinguished Community Service Award.
