Speaker of National assembly falls ill, meeting put off

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 7TH 2012 (CUOPM) – Friday’s planned resumption of a sitting of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly was shelved after the Clerk of the law making body reported that the Speaker of the House, Hon. Curtis Martin was ill.

Clerk of the lawmaking body, Mr. Jose Lloyd informed Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, Leader of Government Business, Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Sam Condor and Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Mark Brantley.

The announcement was made on ZIZ Radio by the Press Secretary to the Prime Minister just before twelve today Friday December 7.

The meeting was to be brought live on ZIZ Radio and TV and streamed on the web at zizonline.com.
