Special Olympians set the stage for 2010 sports calendar

ZIZ Sports…March 3, 2010 – Chairman for the St. Kitts Special Olympic Committee, Lloyd Lazar says the results from the Special Olympics team from the Latin American games have set the stage for the federation’s 2010 sports calendar.

The federation’s team returned with 17 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, making a grand total of 41 medals.

Meanwhile, the Special Olympians of Nevis received their day in the sunshine on Monday when they were treated to a grand motorcade through the streets of Charlestown.

The athletes who were a part of the successful federation team at the recent Latin American Special Olympic Games started their motorcade at the school in Prospect before journeying to the administration building at Bath Hotel where they were warmly welcomed by Premier of Nevis, Hon Joseph Parry.

The Premier took time out to warmly shake hands with each athlete and congratulated them on their achievements.
