ZIZ News, August 28, 2011 – St. Kitts Nevis sprint icon Kim Collins has once again made the Federation proud at the World Championship in South Korea.

He won the Bronze medal in a time of 10.09 seconds.

The Gold medal was won by another young Jamaican sprint star Yohan Blake in 9.92 seconds, while American Walter Dix came in second place, at 10.08 seconds.

According to a report by a major sports network, Collins, 35, made the quickest start out of the blocks but Blake took over the race and crossed the line comfortably.

Following the race Collins stated “It was awesome and I didn’t think they would catch me but I’m still happy to be on the podium. Now I will definitely be there next year!”

Event favorite Usain Bolt, of Jamaica, was disqualified from the race after a false start.

Athletics fans and other well wishers in St. Kitts and Nevis called in to the afternoon program on ZIZ Radio to congratulate the St. Kitts Nevis sprint icon on a wonderful showing at the World Championship in Daegu, South Korea.
