St. Christopher National Trust Unveils Governors-General Exhibit

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 15th March, 2023 (ZIZ News)— The St. Christopher National Trust is recognizing present Governor General Her Excellency Dame Marcella Liburd GCMG JP and the federation’s past Governors and Governors-General with an exhibit which was unveiled at a ceremony on Wednesday, 15th March 2023.

The exhibition was symbolically opened by Dame Marcella with the cutting of the ribbon.

Executive Director of the St. Christopher National Trust Etsu Bradshaw-Caines spoke of the significance of the exhibition, noting,  “We are here today to celebrate past leaders who have paved the way for our present leaders, especially women. The month of March is referred to as Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate contributions to history. What you’re about to do this morning is to take a walk. up, not down, up Government House’s memory lane of former governors and governors-general to our very present beautiful Dame Marcella Liburd GCMG JP.”

The exhibition features His Excellency Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, KC, JP, LL. D, (2015-2023), His Excellency Sir Edmund Wickham Lawrence, GCMG, OBE (2013-2015) His Late Excellency Sir Cuthbert Montraville Sebastian, GCMG, OBE, KStJ ED (1996-2013), His Late Excellency Sir Clement Athelston Arrindell GCMG, GCVO, KC (1983-1996); the late Sir Probyn Innis MBE (1975 to 1980), The late Sir Milton Allen OBE (1969 to 1975) and the late Sir Fred Phillips CVO (1967-1969).

As part of Women’s History Month, the exhibition also features the current female Ministers of Honourable Marsha Henderson, the Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke and the Hon. Isalean Phillip, as well as the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Hon. Lanein Blanchette.
