St. Georges Mother’s Union donates to the less fortunate

(ZIZ News) — The St. George’s Anglican Mothers Union is continuing its longstanding tradition of spreading Christmas cheer to the sick and elderly with the donation of gifts baskets.

Branch Leader, Dora Thomas said some items have been distributed already and the union is preparing to deliver to the sick and shut ins who are unable to pick up the packages themselves.

“Every year we give out a hamper to those who are in need; the shut-ins and even members of the community. I would like to thank the members and all the persons in the community who have donated to this worthy cause. As you can see our bags are all prepared to be handed out to the various persons,” she said.

Member, Olinda Delaney thanked those persons and businesses that contributed to make the annual donation a success.

“Thank everybody that gave us all these goodies on the table that we could share with our shut-ins and friends. We are truly thankful and we wish everybody a happy and prosperous Christmas and New Year,” she said.

The St. George’s Mothers’ Union has been donating to the sick and elderly during the Christmas season for over 10 years.
