St. Kitts and Nevis draw World Cup Qualifier with El Salvador

Sports Page — The Football stadium at Warner park in St.Kitts was jam packed with spectators on Thursday night as hundreds of persons showed up to witness local team, St.Kitts and Nevis engage El Salvador in a world cup qualifier.

El Salvador scored first as one of their strikers capitalized on a slight lapse by the opposition’s defense and struck the back of the net.

Much to the delight of the huge crowd, St.Kitts bounced back in a big way to score in the 67th and 70th minutes.

The crowd could have settled for this 2 to 1 lead, but to the dismay of the local supporters, just about five minutes before the consclusion of the game, the El Salvador team got a curling free kick to strike the back of the net. Make that 2-all at the final whistle.

St.Kitts –Nevis will now journey to El Salvador where they will engage the host team on Tuesday in the return leg.
