St. Kitts and Nevis: The Envy of Other Countries

(ZIZ News) – St. Kitts and Nevis is “doing excellently at a macroeconomic level”.

This is according to the federation’s Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris who said the country is moving on in a way that makes it the envy of other countries around the world.

He said, “Last year we delivered an economic growth at the rate of about 6.6%. You could hardly find 5 countries around the world that would have performed at that magnitude.”

The Prime Minister further predicted a positive outlook for the country this year, stating that the anticipated growth rate is close to 5%.

He further stated that, “When we look at the ECLAC report, the IMF report, the World Bank outlook, we would recognize that we are in a position that puts us way better than any other country around the world.”

Prime Minister Harris says the country’s 6.7 percent growth was largest in the Caribbean.

The Prime Minister was at the time speaking during Wednesday’s edition of “Working for You” on ZIZ Radio 96.1 FM.
