St. Kitts Hosts Caribbean Region Citizenship by Investment Program Meeting

(ZIZ News) – Transparency, credibility and efficiency are the main topics up for discussion for the next two days at the Caribbean Region Citizenship by Investment Program Meeting.

The meeting is being attended by government officials, industry leaders, service providers, regulators and other stakeholders from Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica and Grenada.

Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, in his address at the opening session, gave an overview of what is expected.

He said, “We have come together to explore opportunities to build a more robust architecture based on our joint commitments to greater transparency, enhanced credibility and efficiency in our Citizenship by Investment Programs.”

“This conference is intended to provide a conducive and private environment for participating countries in the CBI Program in the Caribbean to come together and to speak freely about the reality and the imperative for regional response to the expanding citizenship by investment industry,” he added.

Prime Minister Harris pledged to ensure that the country’s CBI Program, when reformed, is of the highest standard.

“We in St. Kitts and Nevis promise that our reform efforts shall lead to a product that can stand the test of scrutiny and of course the test of time. We will ensure that our program represents the best of our country, the best of its values, its aspirations and its obligations,” Dr. Harris noted.

The Caribbean Region Citizenship by Investment Program Meeting is being hosted by IPSA International, which is a regulatory risk mitigation firm.
