Executive Marketing Manager, Mrs. Patricia Wilkinson, SKNA National Bank Limited cuts ribbon to Saddlers Secondary Library

Basseterre 15/6/12 – On Thursday 31/5/12 representatives from the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited attended the opening ceremony for the Saddlers Secondary School Library. The library project sponsored by NATIONAL, has provided the school with a state-of-the-art library which uses the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) System. This modern library system replaces the traditional card catalog method and can be accessed from any location with internet service. The school now has the distinct honor of being the first in the Federation to have an automated library system.

During the ceremony, students of the school displayed an impressive array of talent which included songs and dramatization.

Principal Adina Richards said that a book drive was conducted initially to outfit the library. Responses were received from the public and parents of students. In addition donations were made by some members of the business community including Timothy Beach Resort, St. Kitts-Nevis Development Bank Limited, Caribbean Credit Card Corporation, St. Kitts Scenic Railway and the Rotary Club. A major void still existed to complete the project and NATIONAL stepped in providing reference books and facilitating the purchase of the OPAC System. Ms. Richards expressed gratitude to the Bank for funding this venture in spite of the tough economic times we now face.
