St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard in collaboration with Customs and Excise Department uncovered Cannabis on a local Vessel.
(ZIZ) — A collaborated effort between the St Kitts Nevis Defense Force Coast Guard and the Customs and Excise Department on Sunday 9th February 2014, resulted in the seizure of approximately 1400grams of vegetable matter suspected to be cannabis (Marijuana), hidden in Cornflakes boxes onboard a local vessel the MV Lady Mignonne.
MV Lady Mignonne upon returning to the Federation from a voyage to St Martin was boarded and searched at Long Point pier Nevis, by a joint Customs and Coast Guard boarding team. The vegetable matter stuffed in Cornflakes boxes were found in luggage addressed to one Kenneth Thompson of Nevis, who was not onboard the vessel at that time.
The LADY MIGNONNE normally runs general cargo within the Federation as well as to and from St Martin. The suspect vegetable matter was handed over to the Police for further investigation.
