St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party hosts monthly press conference

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 29, 2019 (ZIZ News): The St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party held its monthly press conference on Wednesday August 28 2019 at Galaxy on Port Zante, Basseterre St. Kitts.
During the conference, it was mentioned that Leader of the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party, The Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas received backlash for giving high praises to the Indian community.
While responding to a question posed by members of the media, the Leader of the Opposition said he stands by his commendation of the Indian community and added that he is pleased to welcome Indian investors and businesses to St. Kitts and Nevis.
Dr. Douglas used the family of the late Mr. Kishu Chandiramani who operate the RAMS Trading LTD business as a reference, noting that they have made significant contributions and recommendations to boost the development of St. Kitts and Nevis.
He said, “The family has shown its commitment to the continued development of our country by investing in so many sectors here in St. Kitts and Nevis. But apart from that, I should let you know that one of the proposals that the Labour administration, when it was in office received with regards to the financing and construction of a bridge between the two islands of St. Kitts and Nevis, one of those proposals for development came from an Indian construction and financial consortium.”
The opposition leader said that St. Kitts has seen an ever evolving multicultural society that encourages investors from various ethnic backgrounds to add to the development of the country.
Dr. Douglas said that his team “will continue to welcome entrepreneurs to our country. We will welcome those who are prepared to work hand in hand with us in the advancement of our people through continued thriving businesses”.
