St. Kitts Nevis Olympic Team takes third place in South Korea
ZIZ News…Sept 5, 2011 – St. Kitts Nevis has once again taken to the world stage when our Olympic Team did us proud by winning a Bronze medal at the World Championship in Daegu, South Korea.
It was another outstanding performance by the team in the 4x100m at the 2011 IAAF World Championship that ended on Sunday, 4th September.
The team performed with distinction and received commendation from the executive body of the SKAAA and the entire public of St. Kitts and Nevis and region at large.
Vice President Lester Hanley said in a release, “we have again made it to the medal podium with a third place finish (Bronze Medal) in the 4x100m Men’s Final. We congratulate Jason Rogers, Kim Collins, Antoine Adams and Brijesh Lawrence for their brilliant performance in this event, which marked the closing of the 13th IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011.
Delwayne Delaney was also a member of the relay team.
Hanley said, “With this third place finish, we have realized yet another goal of the SKNAAA for the 2011 Athletics season. Now, we turn our focus to finishing the season with a strong showing at the PAN AM Games in Mexico and then on to the 2012 Olympic Games in London England next year.”
