(ZIZ News) – The St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) will field the strongest possible national team for the upcoming Scotiabank Caribbean Cup Tournament.
That’s according to the association’s General Secretary, Stanley Jacobs, who was at the time responding to questions about the addition of overseas based players to the team.
“We will have all of our players who are available and are qualified to play for St. Kitts and Nevis, we will have them available,” Jacobs said. “That is why one of the key elements of the Caribbean Cup format is that the matches are not fixture to coincide with FIFA international friendly dates. That allows the international players, not just for St. Kitts and Nevis, to be a part of that tournament.”
He said the local football association is looking forward to the competition and expects the national team to advance to the second round.
St. Kitts and Nevis was drawn in group one with Antigua and Barbuda and Aruba. Matches of the group phase will be played on March 22, 26 and 29.
