St. Kitts-Nevis to Host Diplomat Week In 2016

Hon. Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and Minister of Foreign Affairs in St. Kitts and Nevis

(ZIZ News) — St. Kitts and Nevis is making plans toward hosting Diplomat Week from April 03 to 08, 2016.

That disclosure came late last week, when the country’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Mark Brantley met with Honorary Consuls.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service reported that the theme for Diplomat Week will be “Forging New Partnerships and Strengthening Networks for a More Unified and Prosperous St. Kitts and Nevis.”

Meantime, at that meeting of Honorary Consuls, Senior Diplomat Brantley said it is important for St. Kitts and Nevis to implement reforms, noting that the Federation must continue to address education and capacity building and promote shared prosperity and social justice.

Other critical areas that he believes need to be addressed are poverty, unemployment, youth delinquency and citizen security.

The reforms were described as necessary for small states like St. Kitts and Nevis to compete successfully and capitalise on opportunities in a changing globalised world.
