In recent years, cruise liners have responded to passenger requests for something different by visiting a variety of ports, some they even built themselves. The result has been an integration of some exciting destinations, previously not often seen by cruise ship passengers, along with some pretty-hard-to-beat classic cruise destinations.
According to Chris Owens of Cruise@ddiacts, sailing a variety of cruise lines in 2011, they got a chance to sample many of these warm Caribbean ports.
The ten are St. Kitts’ Port Zante; Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras; Cruz Bay, St. John’s U.S. Virgin Islands; Isla Catalina, Dominican Republic; Falmouth, Jamaica; Rodney Bay, St. Lucia; Galveston, Texas (although not in the Caribbean); Gustavia, St. Barts; Bridgetown, Barbados and Mayreau, Grenadines.
