St. Kitts to host Alpha8 World Poker Tour in November

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, (CUOPM) – St. Kitts’ Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino is the venue for the World Poker Tour Alpha8 tour.

The company’s newly-launched super high-roller series will take place in St. Kitts from Nov. 16-17 for a televised $100,000 buy-in event and is expected to attract some of poker’s biggest and richest names.

Of those confirmed are Paul Newey, Dan Bilzerian, Philipp Gruissem, Tobias Reinkemeier, and Erik Seidel.

“St. Kitts is the perfect setting in which to watch some of the boldest amateur players put their games to the test against the highest-profile professionals,” said WPT President Adam Pliska in the press release.

“The island’s unspoiled tropical beauty will also provide for compelling television in a tropical environment that is both relaxed and inspiring for those seeking a glimpse into this exclusive and exotic lifestyle.”

One of the players who will also be in attendance is resident high roller Bill Perkins.

“I look forward to hosting some of poker’s highest rollers in my second home,” Perkins said, adding:

“Being able to enjoy my hobby and hone my skills alongside these pro players, all near the natural beauty and warm waters of St. Kitts, will be brilliant.”

According to the release, all WPT Alpha8 players are eligible for special, discounted room rates at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino, starting at just $179 per night.
