Stalwart assists ‘Emani White’ in distress

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 8TH 2011 (CUOPM) – The Coast Guard Unit of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force went into action Sunday morning when a local cargo vessel was in distress.

Police stated that an unidentified caller reported that the “Emani White,” which was on its way from the neighbouring island of St. Maarten was in distress in the area of Challengers Village.

The Coast Guard vessel Stalwart went into action and assisted the vessel which reportedly had lost significant power to the Deep Water Port at Bird Rock.

It is reported that the vessel had on cargo for St. Kitts and Montserrat.
