Sugar Workers Secretariat makes home deliveries to Shut-Ins

Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS) — Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris stated in his monthly press conference on October 13th that the Sugar Workers’ Restoration Fund (SWRF) Secretariat will continue to make it easy for persons to receive their cheques expeditiously.

The Prime Minister stated that there have been a number of home deliveries for persons who cannot go to the office.

“A total of 41 cheques have been delivered,” the Prime Minister revealed. “The amount paid via this facilitative method is EC$497,722.”

The Prime Minister also stated that the secretariat has commenced processing documents for those claiming on behalf of deceased persons.

“This is done with the support of a battery of lawyers at the Secretariat who not only validate documents but who also provide free document preparation services to those persons in need,” said the Prime Minister.

The lawyers are Mrs. Agatha James, Ms. Denise Alleyne and Mr. Delara Mac Clure Taylor. Their services are available at the Secretariat from Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the CLICO building, South Independence Square Street.

The secretariat will be calling persons who made claims for the deceased for legal consultation.
