Summer Golf Program Underway

Sports Page—Tuesday 30th July 2013–Bruce Wilson, the Golf professional employed at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort, is committed to the teaching of the game to the young people of Nevis.

Wilson made the remarks as the Golfing aspect of the summer program hosted by the Sports Department commenced on the greens of the Resort on Monday 29th July.

He explained that the program will be run for the next two weeks and that the children will be taught the basics of the game.

‘It depends on how you choose to look at it. It can be an exciting game which test your mind as you try to get the balls into the holes or you may deem it a boring lazy man’s game,’ he said.

He however opined that it was an exciting sport and one with many opportunities even for the young people as there were scholarships available through the sport. He used the opportunity to encourage more persons to learn and appreciate the sport.

There are 14 students enrolled in this year’s program and they have been divided into two groups. The sessions will be held during the morning period.
