Summer Safety Programme opening ceremony

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 16, 2019 (ZIZ News): On Monday the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue services held the opening ceremony for their 17th Annual Summer Safety program under the theme “Building for a Safer Tomorrow by Preparing our Children Today”.

The aim of the program is to educate children 5 to 12 years old on important safety tips and practices.

Fire chief officer, Everette O’garro declared the summer program officially open.

During his speech he spoke of the important role fire safety plays on protecting the future of the federation and reported on the success the program has had over the years.

Some of the topics that will be taught include fire safety, traffic safety, water safety, disaster preparedness and crime and violence.

The program will run for one week starting Monday 15th to Friday 19th July from 9 am to noon.
