Table Tennis Business League 2012 celebrates International Women’s Day (Friendship Trophy) on Opening Day

ZIZ News…March 8, 2012 — The Saint Kitts-Nevis Table Tennis Association (SKNTTA) Table Tennis Business League commences on Friday 9th March 2012, at 6:00pm with an opening ceremony and games by Solid Waste Co. vs. Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Table Tennis Club and Digicel vs. Brisbane and O’Gara Associates (BOA).

The featured event for the night is our Friendship Trophy, to celebrate International Women’s Day. This event is an open tournament in which women of all age are invited to participate, the primary objective of the Friendship Trophy is to promote, enhance and encourage the involvement of women in sport at all levels and be active through recreational activities.

Next week, the Business Junior tourney (Under-13 players) will commence on Wednesday 14th March 2012 from 5.30pm.

Meanwhile the SKNTTA table tennis caravan is in a neighborhood near you, and invites all budding table tennis players to jump on the bandwagon.

Through its mandate to popularize the sport of table tennis within the communities around St. Kitts and Nevis, Coach Lake and team will journey to Conaree and Monkey Hill/St Peters starting from Saturday March 10th 2012 to end-April 2012 to deliver a 24 hour grassroots table tennis coaching programme targeting the At Risk Youths between the ages of 6 to 16 years old.

Dates and Time for Coaching Programme:

• St Peters Community Centre – every Friday from 16th March 2012 – April 20th 2012, between 5.00pm – 7.00pm.

• Conaree Community Centre – every Saturday from 10th March 2012 – April 21st 2012, between 3.00pm – 5.00pm

The table tennis caravan breaks for a Table Tennis Easter Camp during the period 6th – 9th April 2012 and a National Junior Tournament on April 14th at Conaree Community Centre.
