Taiwan donates to agriculture

(ZIZ News) — The Department of Agriculture and farmers in the federation will soon benefit from two donations made by the Republic of China (Taiwan).

On Wednesday a cheque for US $113,458 was presented to St. Kitts and Nevis for the Vegetable, Fruit and Upland Crop Quality and Safety Improvement Project over the period January to June.

The embassy also donated one power tiller to aid in the replacement of one which was lost in a shed fire some months ago.

Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. Eugene Hamilton received the donations on behalf of the Federation.

The donations were made during a handing over ceremony at the launch of dragon fruit in St. Kitts-Nevis.
