Taiwan President Dr. Tsai Ing Wen departs St. Kitts and Nevis

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 16, 2019 (ZIZ News): After receiving the Order of St. Kitts and Nevis for her extensive contrib

utions to advancing bilateral relations, Her Excellency President Tsai departed St. Kitts and Nevis at approximately 9 a.m. on Tuesday July 16 2019.

In a brief but significant send off, President Tsai who was flanked by Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris received an honorary military salute.

She then used the opportunity to capture photos with government officials and an enthusiastic audience before making her way to the very top of China Airlines’ aircraft stairs; and then with a final look and a smile, she waved good bye, uttered thank you, thank you all and entered the aircraft.

The president’s 12-day presidential visit, seeks to promote the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals and boost bilateral cooperation in related areas.

St. Kitts and Nevis was the second island to be visited during her Caribbean tour.
