Taiwanese Youth host Cultural Performance

(ZIZ News) — It was an afternoon of music, culture and dance on Tuesday as the 2014 Youth Ambassadors Delegation of the Republic of China (Taiwan) put on a cultural performance for high school students and invited guests.

20 university students are in St. Kitts Nevis on a mission of cultural exchange, bringing the sights and sounds of Taiwan to the Federation.

The performance, held at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium formed part of activities for the 31st anniversary of Independence of St. Kitts And Nevis.

The Republic of China (Taiwan)’S Ministry Of Foreign Affairs has conducted the International Youth Ambassadors Exchange Programme since 2009.

The programme allows talented Taiwanese youth to participate in international affairs and broaden their horizons.

In addition through exchanges and interactions with young people in other countries the programme aims to enhance international awareness of Taiwan’s many roles in the world.

The performance combined dance, music, and Mandarin language themes introducing Taiwan to the local audience. The goal is for the youth ambassadors to forge lasting friendships with people of various cultural backgrounds, who will in turn gain a better appreciation of Taiwan.
