Tape Ball Cricket semis and finals pushed back

There was much disappointment for Cricket fans on Nevis on Thursday night as none of the two scheduled semi final matches in the Development Bank/Nevis Sports Department tape ball Cricket league were played.

The problem?  Only two of the flood lights are at the ET Willet Park were working and therefore the lighting available was inadequate for the matches to be played. It is reported that there was a blown fuse of sorts that created the problem.

The organizer had to make a hasty decision and it was decided that the two semi final matches will now be played tomorrow Saturday night-18th January as follows:

6 pm—Bush Wackers v Empire

7.30 pm—SDA Jets v All stars

The finals have now been pushed back to Thursday 23rd January at the ET Willet Park.

Meanwhile, having received the report from one of the umpires who officiated in the controversial semi final match between Alex Stars (Nurses) and Rozel’s team and also having received an official protest from the Alex Stars pertaining to the general conduct of the game, the organizers have decided to have the match replayed in order to determine the other female finalist in the tournament to come up against Pennyless Alls stars female team.

Both teams have been duly notified and the match will be played this evening—Friday 17th January.
