Tape Ball Tournament at an interesting stage

The tape ball cricket tournament hosted by the Nevis Sports Department and sponsored by the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, has reached an interesting phase.

There was a slight break as the cricketers relaxed for the couple of Public holidays but the action is set to resume the evening of Monday 6rd January with a match up starting at 6 pm between Rawlins Bush wackers and Pennyless All stars

The league has had a topsy-turvy start so far with some very exciting matches but also a number of teams have copped out of the tournament.

It is very obvious that some persons who were keen to play cricket had registered teams but just could not find enough players who were equally interested in playing in the league.

The upcoming preliminary matches should be really exciting as teams struggle for a semi final berth, set to commence on January 18th.

Another very important aspect to factor in, is the uncertainty of the current weather conditions, with the excepted sharp and sudden showers of rain.

Once a game is rained out, both teams will receive one point each.

Such matches could prove very crucial to the advancement of some teams.

Whatever happens, there is an air of expectancy as the cricket lovers across the island wait in eager anticipation for the next game.
