TDC continues to support the Farming Community

Basseterre, St. Kitts…March 21, 2013 (Written by E. Evelyn) — Farmers, as well as, individuals and institutions using Agricultural inputs in St Kitts and Nevis are being encouraged to take advantage of numerous savings being offered to them during the month of March.

The St Kitts Nevis Trading and Development Company Limited (TDC), which is this year celebrating its 40th anniversary, has once again come to the assistance of the farming community by offering a twenty percent (20%) discount on all agricultural products and related materials at its stores in both St Kitts and Nevis.

A company official has indicated that the discounted prices are being offered to not only to bona fide farmers but to all persons involved in agriculture, which includes seeds, fertilizer, pesticides and equipment. Lawn and garden supplies are also included in the special package being offered.

The Farmers Month initiative, which started last year, is aimed at both showing appreciation to the farming fraternity for their support of the company and also recognizing the efforts of farmers aimed at food security and import substitution.

For the entire week period, field representatives from the Agro Divisions within the retail outlets have been visiting and interacting with farmers, along with other persons involved in crop production to find ways by which the company can better serve its clientele.

Apart from the Farmers Month programme, TDC has also partnered with the Taiwanese Technical Mission, the Agriculture Departments, and the Trinidad based Caribbean Chemicals and Agencies Limited to offer training and technical assistance to the local farming population.
