The music world mourns the death of musical icon Masud Sadiki

ZIZ News…May 21, 2012 — Popular singer/musician Kevin Donavan known as Masud Sadiki in the music world is dead after he was found hanging early Monday evening in his hometown of Old Road.

A large group of persons from the Old Road and neighbouring communities gathered at the scene where the alleged suicide took place.

The police was quickly on the scene as they conduct their investigations into the death of this popular musical icon whose works have touched audiences the world over.

He was also set to appear on the sixteenth edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival .

Masud Sadiki is one of St. Kitts top recording reggae artiste, who has produced some well loved tunes and has shared the stage with artist such as Beenie man, DMX and many others.

In April 2010 Masud was one of a handful of regional artistes selected to represent the United Nation’s “Unite to end violence against women” campaign. The little boy from Old Road became an international performer, touring places like Palestine, United Kingdom and South America.

Masud Sadiki was also a calypsonian using the stage name “Stitch in time” and was one of the hosts of the St. Kitts Visitor Channel.
