“The Narrows” novel highlights St. Kitts and Nevis

(ZIZ NEWS)– The federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is being highlighted with the publishing of a new book entitled “The Narrows” written by Donald Furtado.

Set in St. Kitts the novel tells the fictitious story of an ex-US Navy Seal who is pursuing his goal of becoming a veterinarian at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Fictitious articles from the St. Kitts Nevis Observer are also mentioned several times in the novel.

Author Donald Furtado said his inspiration to write the novel set in St. Kitts was due to the fact that he was impressed by the islands when he visited his son who was pursuing a degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

He said “The result was “The Narrows”, which weaves together the question of who was Alexander Hamilton’s father, the challenges of becoming a veterinarian, the impact of the production and sale of illegal opioids that continues to end and ruin so many lives around the world, and the issues confronting a young Caribbean democracy as it struggles to create a better life for its citizens.”

Donald Furtado is an ex Navy Seal, he has been a law professor and is the author of another novel, the cut, as well as a biography, “Not Quite Seven Ages”. Don and his wife, Jane, an artist, live on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

The Narrows written by Donald Furtado is available in paperback and online versions at Amazon.com.
