Three cars in from Antigua for major meet

ZIZ News…Dec 7, 2012 — Carlos Vanterpool, the man in charge of the Drag Racing Unit on Nevis, is promising something really special for the Christmas meet scheduled for Sunday 16th December.

The meet will involve mainly vehicles from St. Kitts and Nevis but the good news is that three top vehicles from out of Antigua have already arrived on the island for the meet.

The meet is scheduled for December 16th and caretaker of the St. James’ raceway facility, Nicky Williams is indicating that the final touches are being placed on the preparation of the track and the grounds are already cleared and in readiness for the event.

Special attraction is that all Primary Schools students will be allowed into the grounds free of cost and there will also be music and other attractions including the popular bouncing castle.

The meet commences at 9 am and there is a $20.00 cover charge for patrons.

The three vehicles from Antigua include a turbo charged Chevrolet which is fuel injected and a 1993 Ford Mustang which at one point was rated the fastest vehicle in Antigua, previously clocking 8.76 secs in 2005.

The general public is invited to witness what is expected to be a thrilling event.
