[ZIZ]–Tourism stakeholders met on Tuesday 19th November 2013 to discuss the future of the local industry.
The meeting, held at the St Kitts Marriott Resort, was organized by the St Kitts Tourism Authority.
Minister of tourism, Hon Richard Skerritt told the stakeholders they must all work together to ensure the continued growth of the industry.
“We’re making progress but guess what you know we are still relatively new at this business and we have to do it with more and more of us working together,” he said.
He says the meeting provided them the perfect opportunity to pick each other’s brains about ideas that can help improve the local tourism product.
“What is important about this event is that it’s an opportunity to really listen to each other,” he said. “We want to hear the things that you believe need to be done based on your own experience and expertise and awareness.”
The meeting brought together government officials, hoteliers, and other drivers of the tourism industry.
