Tropical Shipping Nevis Donates EC$6792.25 to Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center

Charlestown, Nevis, 14 March 2022: The Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center (NASC) were proud recipients of EC$6792.25 on Saturday, March 5th from Tropical Shipping Nevis through their local Agents, Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd.

The cheque handover was presented at the NASC’s RS Feva Barbecue at Oualie Bay, a fundraising activity to aid in the purchase of new RS Feva sailboats, which are essential to the Youth Sail Program.

In brief remarks, Tropical Shipping Nevis’ Island Manager Judith Liburd shared that through its commitment to the development of individuals and businesses in the communities they serve, it has been able to contribute to youth and educational initiatives in Nevis such as sporting clubs, primary school students and Nevisian associations in the diaspora.

Liburd congratulated and thanked NASC for their dedication to teaching youth how to sail and swim.  In closing remarks, Liburd said, “It is my hope that one day one of these youths can be seen on one of our vessels.”

Danielle Connor, Chairperson of The Center, was pleased Tropical Shipping rose to the occasion to help the youth become future captains of the ocean and global navigators of tomorrow.  Youth sailors in attendance at the fundraiser also explained how important it was for them to be part of the Youth Sail experience, learn new skills, be part of a team, and make new friends.
