Two locals on “Most Interesting” list

(ZIZ) Two nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis have made it on to Caribbean Journal’s list of ‘the Caribbean’s 25 Most Interesting People For 2013”

According to the journal’s website Tourism Minister the Hon Ricky Skerritt was recognized for his role in the federation’s hotel construction boom.

The article said he is “helping to draw a new wave of foreign investment to the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, from a Park Hyatt Resort to a series of condo-hotel properties.”

And Nevisian Lemuel Pemberton was recognized for his efforts to protect and save sea turtles.

According to the website “the Nevis native has created a culture of conservation on Nevis, regularly drawing crowds to his evening turtle walks, with help from the Sea Turtle Conservancy and the Four Seasons Resort.”

The list encompasses a wide array of individuals who are making waves in the region in one way or another and includes figures such as the Hon Ralph Gonsalves, Usain Bolt, and Tessanne Chin.
