Sports Page — ‘Such behaviour will not be tolerated!’ Those were the words of the Nevis Amateur Basketball Association (NABA) chief, Wanda Parry.
She was referring to an altercation between two players on Sunday 14th June, after the completion of a tense game between Bronx Crisis and Old Skool.
At the final whistle, it appeared as if two players took it as an unofficial signal to go toe to toe on the court, before they were separated.
The two players will receive a suspension of three consecutive matches and these matches can be shared between the NABA league and the SKNABA league.
The two players suspended are: Jeffrey Lewis of the Bronx Crisis team and Robert Scott of the Old Skool team. Additionally, both players will both have to pay a fine of $50.00 before they can play again in the league.
Matthew Harding of the Old Skool team indicated that his management team also met and his team member has been suspended from playing for the team for five matches. These include the three match suspension by the NABA authorities.
‘We were very disappointed with the display of the players and we want to send a strong message to our team that such behaviour will not be tolerated,; he said.
